A few months ago I discovered DOSbox via the QuestStudios web site, which finally made me able to start playing my old Sierra games again
. The only thing I could not get to work was my MT-32. Pity, as I wanted the games to sound like they used to in the past.
Last week I checked back with Queststudios and read something about USB midi adapters. So I decided to check the internet and found the M-Audio UNO usb midi adapter. I ordered one yesterday and it already arrived today
I tried it out right away. It didn't work right away with DOSbox, but after some figuring out it finally did work.
How nice to hear the original Sierra music in the games again, the way it is supposed to sound!
Now I still have to try to get rid of the buffer overflow errors that happen when starting some of the games. I read that this should be possible by lowering the CPU cycles in DOSbox but I still have to try this.
