Anyway, it is only getting dust here. Maybe it is interesting for someone. The card worked fine until removing it from the machine. But I was never able to get the joystick port working. Maybe that part is damaged. Changing the jumper didn´t help.

Its a Pro 1, you can tell by the twin "FM1312" chips, which are really YM-3812 chips with sticker on top.  I don't know why Creative bothered when they did not scratch off the silkscreen on the chip itself and the chip part was well-known since the Adlib first appeared on the shelves.  I have the disks for the Pro 1 as well as a Pro 1 card itself, its the Pro 2 disks that I'm looking for (I also have a Pro 2 as well.)

This is a wonderful topic to stumble upon.  I, too, own a Sounblaster Pro 1 & 2, and would love to get the software disks for both of them. 

Great Hierophant, you mentioned that you have the disks for the Pro 1; if it isn't too much trouble, would you be able to post them here as a link for me?  I appreciate it very much.

There may be a gap in that I have no true AWE32 Disks, but I have the Creative Configuration Utility for PnP and a generic Basic disk.  Most software that came with the 16 also came with the early AWE.  I'm not sure what specifically was included for the AWE32 in the drivers other than AWEUTIL.

Hmm, after extracting both disks' images for SbPro 1 files, and copying them to 2 floppies (disk 1 and 2), I can't get the installation file to work.  It says to install the SbPro disk 1 in the drive...I wonder if it's because there is no Disk.id file, like on the SbPro 2 images.

The Compose and Playrec disks I mean, which may not have come with the card itself.  I do not have the diagnostics disk.

I think you need to make sure that the floppies are labeled appropriately.  Disk 1 should be "SBPRO DI.SK1" and Disk 2 should be "SBPRO DI.SK2" without the quotations of course.

You mean the volume label, right after formatting the blank disk, prior to copying the files?  If so, I tried that in DOS 6.22, and it won't let me when typing exactly what you suggested, saying "Invalid Volume ID".

Otherwise, could it be that I need to create a specific named file, existing together with all other contents on the disk?

What excellent insight!  You will make a DOS expert yet.  The other way is to write the image directly to the disk, although I don't know which program can do that for .ima files.  I have a program for .img files though.
