Either what Tom said, or this guy's working on his own KQ2 project. Either way, it's pretty obvious this is a person with an agenda. had he written only the first post, I might've believed he was just there to laugh at you, but since he's really trying to put you off it (or as Tom suggested, on it) with posting under several users and guests, I'd wager there's some other hidden purpose here. It always makes me laugh seeing people double post under several users and think that no one will know. Just goes to show how pathetic they are. Anyway, keep up the good work (and no, I'm not implying in any way that you must finish it. )!

Here's a demo of the title screen for KQ2SCI that I've just finished (took a bloody long time!). See if you can spot any differences between this one and KQ1SCI's menu. Any button you push will just quit the game, however. http://brandonblume.commerceculture.co.uk/kq2new/kq2title.zip

It even sounded like KQ1SCI, after I fixed the driver from ADL to GM

It was supposed to be on ADL. I run it with DOSBox which is why. I don't like using gm.drv on SCI0 games. Doesn't work very well and it ignores some instruments (drums a lot of the time). I probably won't even include it on the final release unless there's a demand for it.

If you open a SCI0 game in SCI viewer, you will note that there is no GM option for playing the Midi files.

That's because there's no GM patch map like there is for MT-32 and Adlib. The GM driver there was created with FreeSCI's "guessing-style" interpretation.

Meh. You didn't specify to use DosBox to play it and I just wanted it to work.

Looks great, albeit a little too simple story-wise (which is certainly not your fault) after playing KQ2VGA...

My goodness, he's back! Time to break out the champagne! Good on you for keeping working on this, I'll definitely play it. Hope to see you back at the SMC forums sometime, too. - Alistair

Welcome back...again! Hope this time, it's for good? What kind of codec do I need to view these videos? My PC is loaded with everyone I can think of, and it won't play any video ... just audio. None of my PC's at work will show the video, either.

I think it uses the ZMBV codec, a special codec for DosBox. You can find it here.

Okay...so what do you do with this codec? How is it installed? And Brandon, why didn't you use mpg or mp4 or something more commonly used ? Do I need DosBox to view these 'zmbv' video files?

Tom - you dont need the app, the codec is the one that came with the program and it comes with a little installer to install just the codec to play it back. (but i'm glad i read the whole post before playing the movie -- i'll have to boot up the Windows box I think for that ...)

Sorry about the codec. I just recorded it with DOSBox and uploaded it. I am going to be uploading it to YouTube, though, not to worry. I have to run right now but later on tonight I'll let everyone know the link once it's done.
And yes I'm back for good now. Not when I posted that message, but finally got the internet for ourselves today after MUCH trouble. Was worth it, though. Good to be back!

For those who don't have the codec to view these videos or don't want to bother downloading them, here are the youtube links.

It's been a while since I've done backgrounds. Here's a WIP I was working on today. Click for bigger picture.

That's a pretty sweet solo project. I'm trying to learn Adventure Game Studio right now.
You've given me incentive to try and create something decent.
