i was wondering if there is a such thing as a gameport that comes on pci card by itself (not grouped with a sound card) i came across one in my computer box, but its the gameport plug, connected to a pinout via a ribbon cable.. and my motherboard doesnt have the pinouts to accept it... i looked everywhere on the net, for the past couple days for a pci gameport, but came up with nothing!!!

and when i do get a sound card, id like to use the gameport for midi, rather than a gamepad... hence me wanting a seperate/extra gameport any suggestions??

Sound card gameports do support MIDI you know, I've always used the one that came with my Audigy 2 ZS.

I highly doubt they'd make one on a PCI card alone - hardly anyone would buy it.

Would make more sense to put DIN/mini-DIN on a pure MIDI interface. The gameport doubles for MIDI in/out only because it keeps the number of connectors down anyways.

Most cables come with a gameport "thru" so you can connect your joystick to it.
