It's very telling when a foreign shipping carrier can ship things faster (and cheaper) than your national carrier.

Today I received in the mail two envelopes of stuff I bought on Ebay. One was a wireless cable antenna for my laptop (bought about two weeks ago for $3 shipped from an Ebay Hong Kong seller). The other one was a 5 piece phono mono plugs for my MT-32 (bought back in February for about $8 dollars shipped) from a US seller). I am from the US and the antenna cables took about 12 days to get here. The mono plugs took about two months!

The mono plugs were sent First Class mail, which is supposed to take 3 to 6 business days. Assuming the item got lost I talked to the seller back in early March and got my money refunded. So you can imagine my surprise when this envelope arrived at my mailbox today. The envelope for the phono plugs is sort of small and tiny. I am guessing it got lost at the bottom of a bin somewhere at a USPS sorting center. I am still wondering how my Hong Kong package got here faster, considering the additional distance and customs the package has to go through.

Reminds me of Royal Mail (or should that be Royal Fail?) for losing various packages of mine in the past. Thankfully, all the Roland modules I've bought have been shipped with Special Recorded Delivery, meaning Royal Mail cough up money if they lose it. Smiley

I see. Insure it so they take better care of it (or at least make an extra effort not to lose it/track it). You know at first I was a little skeptic about buying cheap electronics stuff from HK ebay sellers, but after five or so successful transactions I've changed my mind. At least for me the transit time has been the same as if someone from the US sent me somthing through USPS Parcel Post. As long as you don't mind waiting it's okay.
