Hi there guys. I am interested in porting this song to the MT-32. The first 10 seconds or so have a "bop bop bow bow" bassy sound that catches my attention. I was wondering if the MT-32 could produce something similar. I am not sure if the sound is vocally made or synth (I am guessing the latter). Actually any suggestions you might have for other potential instruments (that I could take from sysex patches) are welcome. For example I was thinking maybe using the synth brass from Willy Beamish. Thanks for your attention.

It sounds like the former to me. I highly doubt even a CM-32L could produce something like that.

The SC-8820/50 might give it a run for the money, but probably not very well.  It does some scat vocal sounds.  (A "dow", but not a "bow".  With some benders, it might work.)  Yeah, this sounds like a real vocal to me, not a synth.

I got another sound I am looking for an MT equivalent. Below is an mp3 of how it sounds (recorded from an old electronic keyboard). Can the MT-32 do it?

I've been looking at LA-Synth super huge timbre library and can't seem to find anything like it. Maybe a Sierra patch might have it? If anyone could point me in the right direction I would sure appreciate it.

I'm sure that the MT-32 could probably handle that without a problem, though it sounds like you'll have to create the patch if you can't find it in an existing bank.
