Am I correct in assuming that the 1989 Activision/Dynamix game "Ghostbusters 2" was the first one to support the Sound Blaster? It's the kind of cheesy game that probably has not been played by the members of this forum, and I presume very few people ever played it with Roland support. Yes, it does play music through the MT-32 (but no custom sounds), and it plays digitized speech through the Sound Blaster also. The SB support is buggy, so it hangs after the first sample played, but there's a patch for it on the Web. If a Sound Blaster is not detected, the speech is played through the internal speaker. The sound effects, which are not sampled, are played through the PC speaker in any case.

I thought it was suppose to be "Prince of Persia" ?

After checking the file date in "Ghostbuster 2" and "Prince of Persia"... I would say it is "Ghostbuster 2".

Or any member in this forum can name another game which can beat "Ghostbuster 2" in Sound Blaster support?

Ghostbusters2 had ~5 lousy voice samples, whereas Prince of Persia was banging and clanging all the way through.

PoP was a marvel beyond imagining at the time!!  Of course, Tandy 1000TL/SL owners had it pretty good too.

For that matter, those same Tandy owners had it good with Gauntlet II which had enhanced support.  I with my 1000SX was out of luck.  No SoundBlaster support on that one.  Smiley
