Not to keep nitpicking DOSbox, but the playback of digital samples through the emulated OPL still needs a bit of tweaking as well.
If you want to experience this firsthand,
here are two MicroProse Ad Lib jukeboxes
, the first of which features a selection of such digital samples. Or, there's always
Bill and Ted's
Excellent
Craptastic Adventure...
(Several of those MPS OPL2 tunes are quite good...)
