http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260739672249

I got one from the same seller via buy now. Went smooth and was in the same condition as shown.
Maybe interesting to another person reading here or two.

Cute, anything special about it?

The box mentions Adlib and Covox speech thing. Did Sierra games support this card?

Special thing might be that it's a holy grail for most halfway serious sound card collectors.
About Sierra Titles I'm not sure (I registered here, because of the people having quite some sound card expertise here), but I think some did.

EDIT: According to Mobygames Aces of the Deep, Aces of the Deep: Expansion Disk and Battle Bugs support it.

Cool, so what does it sound like? How does it compare to Sound Blaster or Roland?

Do you have any recordings?

Remember, I'm one of these stupid collectors Wink
Haven't dared to tear it out of the shrinkwrap yet Tongue
Otherwise it should be pretty much like an ordinary Soundblaster (AdLib + ADC/DAC).

Picture (made by Malik) not too much to see there.

Okido...

I like to play games / listen / record. But if the card isn't supported or doesn't offer any real benefit or "uniqueness factor" then I'm not really interested...

CMS for example has a very unique sound. Totally my kind of thing...

That's pretty much why I haven't peeled it out of the box yet Wink I have multiple cards with authentic OPL2 chips in use, as well as a selfmade high quality stereo covox (incorporating superior DAC chips compared to the SoundMaster II) ... and I have severe doubts the recording feature is worth anything compared to today's hardware.

CMS pretty much is an ear-grinder Wink (says the guy who's been into homecomputers with soundchips of pretty much any quality possible) I've only used mine with MI2 for testing so far. If there are requests for recordings, give me a ring.

MI2 shouldn't support CMS. I think you mean MI1, right?

Last Crusade is my favourite CMS game! Mostly because it has no Roland support unlike most other games from Lucasarts. The FM Towns version however, does have CD Audio I believe...

I made a video ages ago:

I had one and was so dang disappointed it was NOT SoundBlaster compatible... it was just another AdLib card that had its own digital utilities.  I WAS able to play 688 Attack Sub with the Covox speech thing support (less cool than Tandy.)

That was the one thing I wouldn't mind hearing again...

I'd like to hear that as well!

Apparently certain models from Aztech are compatible with Disney and Covox. I'm curious how good that compatibility and quality was...

sluggish. While high frequency stuff like playing back .mod files with inertia player sounds quite good, the DSS emulation has quite some clipping/artefacting. Keep in mind, the AZTech Covox/DSS emulation hogs the resources for a possible printer port.

Would love to record these cards and document the differences!
