Infamous Adventures have announced that their remake of Space Quest II will be released on Friday, December 30th (That's tomorrow, if you weren't paying attention  Wink ).

Personally, I can't wait to see what they've done with the game. I've been waiting for this one since about the time Sierra's remake of SQ1 was released in 1990...  Grin

SQ2 by Infamous Adventures is about to be released. The IA team is chatting with people at http://www.efnet.org/ for those interested in anticipation of its release. Put a name in the "webchat login" section and change the channel to #InfamousAdventures and then log right in.

Congrats to the IA guys who wander these forums for their fan made efforts. Good job!

I appreciate some of the small things like the expanded glow rock puzzle and super nice PDF manual. For once using the lick icon served as something useful other than for comedic effect. I got stuck on the password puzzle cause I couldn't say the word. The days were I was able to finish adventure games without the help of a hint book or the Internet are long gone. ^__^

So any thoughts about the music? Is there a soundtrack release planned for the future?

There is. I have to remake some of mine, however, because I lost my source files the same time I had that hard drive crash a couple years back and lost my KQ3 Redux source files.

Just finished the game. Smiley

Not a bad remake, but the ending was truly AWESOME! Cheesy

Excellent music, Brandon!

The ending was very good (and longer than expected). It's like the devs didn't want it to end. If they were really serious about you-know-what, then I hope it takes less time.

Yeah. Actually, for a moment there, I was thinking they might have done both back to back, and put them in the same package...  Wink

Actually, we considered this at one point in development, but it's just too much to do. this project took us 6 years as it is. Although, there was supposed to be the ability to play the first few screens of SQ3 if you beat the game with full points. This didn't make it in the game as we couldn't meet our deadline. But it will be coming in one of the upcoming patch.

We don't plan on making all of SQ3 at the moment, though.

Thanks for the words on the music, guys Smiley. I didn't make all of it. Mostly just the "space" themes. The title, XOS4. and Vohaul's Asteroid were mostly my music. We had another guy to the themes for the intro and Labion, and yet another who filled in some tracks here and there. Obviously, the ones that utilized the MT-32 were mine.

Well, these seem to be the themes I, personally, liked best. Smiley

It's a shame a remake of SQ3 isn't planned at the moment, but to be honest, SQ3 is one of those rare cases that don't really need a remake, IMHO. I pretty much like it just the way it is. Smiley
