Vintage XG gear for Final Fantasy VII and VIII

Since the music was composed on an XG midi synth, what vintage synthesizers would be a good fit? The modern unit is the Motif which costs over $1000.

You can use any XG model since the FF7 music is not so advanced... it is not even using the variation effects.
I used DB50XG when i played FF7 and FF8.
Motif is not XG afaik.
