I recorded it using my CM-500 module. I just set my computer to record the output while I played through the first few scenes.

Any chance you could post the MIDI file for this song?  I'd like to see how it was done.

I found this version pretty poor, myself.  I compared it to the MT-32 version, and other than playing the proper melody with the right instruments, the balance of the sounds kind of sucked in comparison.  You really notice the difference with the strings and timpani.  There's no warmth, either; kind of 'just there'; flat (probably from lack of reverb.)  But considering that it's NOT a conversion, it's pretty damn good for just using a different driver that was designed for any General MIDI device.  It reminded me of SB AWE conversions where the instruments are played a bit differently and don't quite balance the same.

I plan to do just that...  Smiley

I'll be using the CM-500 as well, but I'll convert using the original MT-32 soundtrack.
